Happy Friday everyone? Was this the longest week on record? I seriously felt like I was crawling to get to this point. It could also be because I have a serious case of Spring fever. The other day it was still semi light at 5:00 PM and I immediately started to daydream of rooftop patios, being at the lake, working out outside, etc. I need this snow to melt already! This is probably wishful thinking as I live in Minnesota and sometimes it snows in April, so I shouldn't get too ahead of myself.
Today was someone's last day at work and they brought in donuts. Not just regular old donuts, but donuts the size of your head with sprinkles and even.... an apple fritter. I went into the break room and filled my water bottle. I sat at the opposite table and smelled the donuts. Yum. They smelled absolutely delicious. I walked out of the room and sat down. 10 minutes later I was still thinking about donuts. I walked back in to the break room. Apple fritter was gone. I decided sprinkles sounded good. I cut the giant donut in half, so now probably only 400 calories instead of 800, haha. I looked at it, was just about to pick it up and I RAN out of the room. I walked to my desk, picked up my bowl, filled it will oatmeal and put it in the microwave. I walked back and ate it. After 10 minutes I was full, satisfied and not thinking about donuts. WIN!
Anyway, what does your weekend look like? Playing workout games on your gaming system? Hitting the gym hard? Grocery shopping? Okay, that is my weekend, but maybe some of you are doing similar things? I have a happy hour after work (already looked at the menu to decide what to eat) and no alcohol. I then have a birthday party at a bowling alley tonight. Tomorrow is a big day of wedding stuff. We are going to look at a couple more venues and we are also asking our bridesmaids and groomsmen to be in our wedding. How did you guys ask people? Just walk straight up and ask them? Did you write them a nice card? Give them something? I have an idea of what I want to do, but I always welcome advice. So tell me how you asked people to be in your wedding!?
Have a safe, healthy weekend. Remember the next 180 days (6 months) will come quickly. Will you be closer to your goal? or maybe even at your goal? Don't look in the mirror in July and say, "I wish I would have started sooner!"
Love your blog post today!! I am having the same type of weekend, and I am excited to keep working towards my goals!! And, congrats on the MAJOR nsv. Walling away from work treats is hard, but it does get easier!! I'm at the point where my co-workers have just stopped asking me!!!
ReplyDeleteWell done you for walking away!!
ReplyDeleteI asked my friend to her face and gave her a gift at the sit down meal after the wedding,my niece I asked my sister first, and then asked them. although remember even though you know these people are coming to your wedding it is a nice momento to still receive an Invite(if that makes sense lol )
Hell yes on that donut front!!! Better woman than I!
ReplyDeleteFor the wedding stuff, the way my friends asked me was via email, since we lived further away, but I think a nice handwritten note or phonecall is nice, too.

I didn't really have to ask anyone. I decided to keep my wedding party small because we are having the ceremony and reception in the same place. I didn't think it was necessary to have my girlfriends buy a dress and get all done up for a 10 minute ceremony. My sister knew she would be the MOH and my friend Kelli who is like a sister, well, I always told her she'd be the flowergirl in my wedding. No flowergirl, but she is a bridesmaid and I'm thinking of doing something to make her standout as "the flowergirl" even though she's 6 years younger than me and about a foot taller. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI think you should ask in a cute way. A card or something.
Way to go on the donut!
ReplyDeleteI think i just told people they were in my wedding! lol but it was mostly my sisters and his.
Good luck wiht all your wedding things to do!
I think I phoned most people.....that was how I told my maid of honor.
ReplyDeleteGreat work with the donuts! It is sooo hard when you are faced with them like that!
I hope you find your venue!
I agree - this is the week that just would. not. end. Ack!
ReplyDeleteDonuts are my weakness....dang, I'm drooling just reading this. Good approach to not going overboard - well done!
Good job at walking away from the donuts. Those can be hard to resist but they make my body feel SOO gross after eating them.
ReplyDeleteI'm so ready for spring time, too!
I would have eaten that donut without hesitation. Fair play to you!
ReplyDeleteAhh I can definitely sympathise with how you were feeling in that situation! I'm like that too. I try and stay away but can't stop going back. It's very hard! But sometimes having just a few minutes to think about it can be just what you need to take control!
ReplyDeleteYay for walking away from the donuts! They are a weakness for me! I didn't have a traditional wedding, so I'm no help on that one, but good luck!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with you...I will not be looking back in July wishing I had started sooner!
