Weigh in results show that I am 32.2 pounds down. I have been on this journey for about a month, so that number is pretty good. I am a little disappointed that this week was only about 5 pounds, but a lose is a lose. My dietician thinks that my body is adjusting to my new work-out routines and I am also gaining muscle, so no complaints here.
I have also started to go through my closet and get rid of old items that don't fit or are stained, etc. I have a section in my closet though of clothes that either don't fit or summer/spring clothes that definitely won't fit next summer. I am wondering what people on their weight loss journey have done with their clothes that no longer fit? I give tons of clothes to the goodwill and I am fine with doing that again, but if someone else is on their journey and they would benefit from having the clothes until they get down to the next size then I would be happy to give them away to them. I think I may hold onto them until I get some more stuff stocked up and then I will maybe give some stuff away on the blog or just donate it. Let me know if anyone knows anything else you can do with clothes.
wow.. that's such a great loss! awesome job ;) congrats.
ReplyDeleteYou could sell the clothes on Ebay. I bought a pair of Lane Bryant jeans that had been discontinued on Ebay. The girl had lost weight and was selling a ton of stuff. I paid about $15 + shipping for them. I am not sure what is involved in selling it. That could buy you some new clothes in smaller sizes as you go along.
ReplyDeleteIf you still wanted to do something for fellow bloggers and were interested in Ebay I have a suggestion. You could come up with a contest prior to or during the time you were selling clothes on EBay. The winner could get a gift card with all or some of the proceeds. Perhaps the person who lost the highest % of weight in a month or something.
Thanks Stacy for the great ideas. I really like the idea of giving away a gift card or something like that. I will have to think more about this and see what I come up with! :)
ReplyDeleteIf you did a contest like that I'd suggest that the people had to take pictures of the scale and send the to you to prove their progress and prevent cheating :)
ReplyDeleteMeant to tell you congrats on the loss. That's amazing!!!
Terrific job!
ReplyDeleteI have been sticking to plain and simple JMS brand from WalMart or the JMS website because I'm going thru sizes so quickly. Then I don't have to worry about buying something used that isn't quite right. $7 for long sleeve T and $9 for drawstring sweats (no gather at the foot)
How awesome are you!!! Five pounds is definitely a victory, be proud of your number girl :D
ReplyDeleteI just had to buy some new work clothes (I have to wear mostly business attire, with some days being business casual) and it felt so good that they were a smaller size! Now I just need to get rid of the many articles that no longer fit...I never want to see those sizes in my closet again!
Diet Chic- Thanks!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLanie- Thanks for the ideas. You have to love those prices, especially for items you won't wear very long!
Kati- I am happy about the five pounds and the overall 30 pounds. I am looking forward to getting some new work clothes at the end of the month. It is so nice to get rid of stuff that doesn't fit for good! :)
Great loss and great idea! Don't hold on to them too long, you don't need them anymore!
ReplyDeleteYou are doing awesome! You have lost more in a month than I have this entire year! Keep going!
